NIT – The President is now tweeting, and some of the “tweets” he received weren’t too friendly.
“Hello, Twitter! It’s Barack,” President Barak Obama tweeted to his new Twitter account on May 18.
“Really! Six years in, they’re finally giving me my own account,” he said. He quickly gathered over 2 million followers.
So, far the President has sent just four tweets. But, he’s received plenty from well-wishers and the hateful.
According to the New York Times, “it took only a few minutes for President Barack Obama’s account to attract racist, hate-filled posts and replies. Posts addressed him with racial slurs, called him a monkey, and one had an image of the president’s neck in a noose.”
One tweet said to the President “the opposite of evil is good. In your case, it’s worse. Way worse.”
Theres wished him well, and even said they “love” him.
What do you think the President thinks of these tweets that are directed at him?
