Woman run over by semi after exiting vehicle

logo-iowa-state-patrolHAMILTON COUNTY, IA – A Minnesota woman exited a vehicle on a busy road for an unknown reason and was run over by a semi.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, on May 1 at about 10 PM, 52-year-old Denise Lorine McMahon was a passenger in a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 20 and Highway 69 when she left that vehicle. A Freightliner semi traveling eastbound on Highway 20 driven by John W. Dully of Tennessee then struck McMahon, killing her.

The patrol did not explain whether McMahon’s vehicle was moving or not when she exited, nor did it explain why she left the vehicle.

This article is horribly written. The article should also be written with some sensitivity as this is someone’s life that has ended in a horrific way. The driver’s name is also spelled incorrectly – way to fact check.

RIP Denise

A news story isn’t that, a story. It states the facts of the case and not trying to gain sympathy for the victim. As long as it has who, what, where, when is all it needs.

I don’t see what the problem is. This article states the facts and is brief. I see no cause for alarm. If you’d like to submit an extended obituary, please do so. I think people get sensitive when they see their loved ones on the news.
