NORTHWOOD — Over $800,000 in grants where recently awarded by the Worth County Development Association (WCDA).

The WCDA receives proceeds from the Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood and redistributes to schools and other area projects.

The grants awarded this spring include:

• American Legion Post 91, $1,995, Legion youth baseball equipment

• Consumer Credit Counseling, $2,595, chair lift

• City of Grafton, $2,795, community center equipment

• Joice Fire Department, $3,076, defibrillator life pack

• Manly Public Library, $3,628, early literacy station

• Freeborn County Historical Society, $3,882, copy machine

• Worth County Extension Service, $4,223, digital phone system

• St. Ansgar Fire Department, $4,400, Res-Q-Jack

• Serenity Acres, $4,572, run-in shed, mounting platform
