MASON CITY – A convicted Lake Mills meth dealer didn’t get far after a police officer observed him riding a bike on a sidewalk in the Cultural Crescent and gave pursuit.
A Mason City police officer attempted to stop Jason Olando Thorson, age 31 of Lake Mills, who was riding his bicycle on a sidewalk at the 000 block of East State Street in the Cultural Crescent on Saturday afternoon. However, Thorson, a convicted meth dealer out of Winnebago county who was sent to Mason City ten years ago to serve tim in the Beje Clark halfway house, refused to stop. During the ensuing chase, up to 8 police officers and Cerro Gordo deputies attempted to catch Thorson. He was eventually arrested on charges of riding a bike on a sidewalk and interference with official acts.
Pretty stuipd on his part. He too a nothing and made it into a something. They patrol that area pretty heavily what with all the crime in the “Cultural Crescent”.
Damn “typo” Stupid of course. I have to spell that out because some people are not smart enough to figure it out on their own.
way, way, overstaffed
“8 police officers and Cerro Gordo deputies” for riding on the sidewalk, must have been a slow day. I wonder if this guy is targeted because of his past, as I see people riding on the sidewalk in the CC everyday. Maybe they only arrest criminals or people from out of town.
