MASON CITY – A North Iowa woman has been jailed on domestic abuse and drug charges.
Julie Marie Rockwell, age 33 of Meservey, was taken to the county jail Friday morning after she appeared at the courthouse. A judge had issued a warrant for her arrest in connection to an arrest on March 28 for second offense domestic abuse assault. She is accused of violating the no-contact order Thursday morning, which was set on March 31 in that case. She is set to be arraigned on the domestic abuse charges on April 27. Rockwell had been arrested by Mason City police back in 2007 for first offense domestic abuse assault while using a weapon.
Meanwhile, Rockwell is accused of drug possession (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia, charges brought by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office. She was jailed on those charges earlier in April and posted bond, as she awaits upcoming court dates.
