Four NIACC women’s basketball players sign national letters

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – Four NIACC women’s basketball players will sign national letters of intents at four-year schools Wednesday night on the NIACC campus.

Sophomore Sierra Ford-Washington signed with NCAA Division I University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin and sophomores Ashleigh Onaca and Alexis Boyd-Lockett signed with NAIA Division I Missouri Valley College.

Freshman Logan Anderson signed to play next season at NCAA Division II Minnesota State.
University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin was 10-20 overall and 5-11 in the Horizon League in the 2014-15 season.
Missouri Valley College was 13-15 overall and 9-9 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference last season.

Minnesota State was 21-9 and 16-6 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference last season.

Ford-Washington, a NJCAA Division II first-team all-American, averaged 22.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game during her sophomore season. She also collected 112 assists and 84 steals and helped lead the Lady Trojans to the NJCAA Region XI title game.

Ford-Washington scored 848 career points (9th on school’s all-time list) with 291 career rebounds, 157 career steals (8th on school’s all-time list) and 149 assists (12th on school’s all-time list).

Ford-Washington scored 594 points in her sophomore season, which ranks fifth on NIACC’s all-time single-season scoring list.
