Hancock County Sheriff Scott Dodd told media Thursday that Joel Nedved was playing with his father and the family dog when he likely wandered onto this ice at Crystal Lake and fell into the icy waters. Joel was found in the lake’s shallow waters hours later after a massive search by regional rescuers and law enforcement. He was taken to a Rochester, Minnesota hospital but died on Saturday.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Joel was scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:30 am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan, Iowa.
