MASON CITY – A woman discovered deceased at her home in Meservey died of accidental causes, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Brooke A. Avery, age 35, of 818 1st Street in Meservey was discovered deceased at that address after deputies responded to an emergency 911 call after 8PM Friday, February 27.
Due to her age and the fact this was an unattended death, agents of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation were asked to assist deputies at the scene along with the Cerro Gordo County Medical Examiner.
The preliminary cause of death has been ruled accidental and an investigation is continuing at this time.
