NEW HAMPTON – A Chickasaw county man arrested last year after a domestic incident in which he allegedly strangled his victim has pleaded guilty.
Travis Michael Ruttman, age 24 of Alta Vista, was charged by Chickasaw county law enforcement with public intoxication, felony domestic assault which included strangulation and first degree harassment after an incident on October 26, 2014.
On February 24, 2015, Ruttman entered guilty pleas to criminal charges of assault causing injury and first degree harassment, stemming from the above incident. The other charges were dismissed. He waived his right to be sentenced at a later date and the Honorable District Court Judge, Richard Stochl, sentenced him to probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections, to be served at a residential treatment facility. He remains in the custody of the Chickasaw County Sheriff.
