What’s next: The No. 6 NIACC women’s basketball team (21-5 overall, 10-2 in the ICCAC) hosts Southwestern on Wednesday in its final regular season home game. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. in the NIACC gym.
NIACC wraps up its regular season at Southeastern on Saturday.
Last time out: NIACC topped Ellsworth 87-64 last Saturday. Freshman Savannah Lentz led the Lady Trojans with a career-high 34 points, including 10 three-point goals.
NJCAA Region XI tournament: The regional tournament is set for March 3, 5, 7. NIACC will play a home game at 5:30 p.m. on March 3.
Among the nation’s best: NIACC averages 84.3 points per game, which ranks fourth among NJCAA Division II teams. The Lady Trojans rank third in NJCAA Division II with 236 3-point goals.
Climbing the charts: Sierra Ford-Washington has 745 career points, which ranks 10th on NIACC’s career scoring list … Ford-Washington has 136 career steals (10th on school’s all-time list) … Ford-Washington has scored 491 points in her sophomore season (9th on school’s single-season list) … Logan Anderson has 429 points in her freshman season (16th on school’s single-season list) … Lentz has 72 three-point goals in her freshman season (12th on school’s career three-point list).

Last time out: The Trojans topped Ellsworth 76-74 on Saturday. Braxton Williams tipped in a shot at the buzzer to give the Trojans’ the 2-point victory.
NJCAA Region XI tournament: The regional tournament is set for March 3, 5, 7. NIACC is in third place in the ICCAC with its 5-6 mark. If the Trojans place in the top four, they will host a first-round contest at 7:30 p.m. on March 3.

Wrestling
What’s next: The No. 6 NIACC wrestling team returns to action Friday and Saturday at the NJCAA national tournament in Des Moines. The national tournament is held at the Jacobson Exhibition Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
Last time out: NIACC placed second at the NJCAA North Central district meet on Sunday and qualified all 10 wrestlers for the national meet. Jake Marlin claimed the 141-pound district title and Nosomy Pozo was the 149-pound district champion. NIACC coach Steve Kelly was selected as the district coach of the year.

Indoor track and field
What’s next: The NIACC men’s and women’s track and field teams compete at the NJCAA indoor championships March 6-7 in Albuquerque, N.M.
Last time out: NIACC’s Hannah Palmeter won the mile in a school-record time of 5:06.69 at the NJCAA Region XI meet on Saturday in Storm Lake. Also for the NIACC women, Rellie Kaputin tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 1.66 meters. For the NIACC men, Trey Simons placed second in the mile at the regional meet in a time of 4:24.34.

What’s next: The NIACC baseball team returns to action March 7-9 in Oklahoma. The Trojans (1-1 overall) play at doubleheader at Western Oklahoma State College on March 7, a twinbill against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid on March 8 and two games against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa on March 9.
Last time out: NIACC split a pair of games with Butler Community College on Saturday. The Trojans won the first game 2-1 and dropped the second game 5-0.

Softball
What’s next: The NIACC softball team (2-2 overall) returns to action Friday against Iowa Lakes, Muscatine CC and Kirkwood at the RCTC Early Bird Tournament.
Last time out: NIACC beat Marshalltown 15-3 in five innings and dropped a 10-1 five-inning decision to the Mount Mercy JV on Feb. 12. The Lady Trojans stopped Marshalltown 13-3 in five innings and fell to No. 12 Iowa Central 11-8 on Feb. 13.
