MANCHESTER, IOWA – Two men from North Carolina face several charges each after a small Iowa town police department conducted a months-long investigation into the theft of $100 in coins from a car wash.
Manchester Chief of Police James R Hauschild said Monday that the Manchester Police conducted a burglary investigation that took place at the Super Wash on West Main in Manchester. The owner of the Super Wash contacted police to inform them 2 of the coin machines had been broken into. When police arrived they found 2 of the coin machines were damaged and approximately 100 dollars of change had been removed from the machines.
A 3 month investigation has led to charges being filed against 2 individuals:
Jason Samuel Bates, age 37 of Linwood, North Carolina
Burglary 3rd Degree an Aggravated Misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief 5th Degree a Simple Misdemeanor
Theft 5th Degree a Simple Misdemeanor
Timothy Mark Gough, age 27 of Lexington, North Carolina
Burglary 3rd Degree an Aggravated Misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief 5th Degree a Simple Misdemeanor
Theft 5th Degree a Simple Misdemeanor
