ADAMS COUNTY, IOWA – Law enforcement responded to a car chase where two subjects were attempting to run each other off a road before discovering one had serious stab wounds.
On December 26, 2014, at approximately 1:53 AM, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reference two vehicles trying to run one another off the road. Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office made contact with both vehicles and discovered that in the second vehicle a male subject had serious stab wounds. The subject was then transported to Mercy Hospital in Corning, Iowa and later taken by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines due to critical injuries sustained during a previous assault.
It was learned that the male subject was in a fight with 47-year-old Kirk Frederick at a rural residence outside of Prescott, Iowa. The injured subject’s name is not being released at this time. Frederick, of Corning, has been charged with Willful Injury causing Serious Injury and Going Armed with Intent. He is a convicted felon on burglary charges.
This investigation is ongoing by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
