Another female bank robber strikes in Des Moines

DES MOINES – Not long after catching a woman who robbed a Des Moines bank, another female suspect is being sought in a second bank robbery Tuesday morning in the capitol city.

According to the Des Moines police Department, at 9:42 AM this morning the Des Moines Police Communications Center received a call from the Community State Bank at 3540 E. 33rd Street reporting a robbery.

An adult white female around 5’ 4” – 5’ 5” and 180-200 pounds entered the bank and handed the employee a note demanding money. The note also stated she had a gun however none was shown.

Surveillance photos show the suspect wearing a dark hooded shirt, glasses, gloves, blue pants and carrying a dark colored hand bag.

Des Moines police are asking anyone with information on the identity or location of this suspect to contact the Des Moines Police Detective Bureau at 515-283-4869.

Just a last week, on December 9, investigators received a tip on the identity of a suspect, Debra Nicole Hancock, age 28 of Newton, who was positively identified as the suspect in a robbery at the US Bank at 115 E. Euclid, the previous day. Detectives made contact with her and she confessed to the crime during questioning. They recovered the clothing worn during the robbery as well as most of the money taken and confiscated a newly purchase television. Ms. Hancock is charged with felony first degree robbery.
