MASON CITY – A Mason City man with a number of domestic assault convictions has pleaded guilty in a felony domestic assault case as well as assault on a police officer.
Mason City police were called to deal with a disturbance early on the morning of September 27. After an investigation, police attempted to arrest 31-year-old Aaron Miller for an assault incident, but he resisted officers and caused injury.
Miller was arrested and charged with felony domestic assault, interference with official acts, assault on a peace officer and violation of a no-contact order.
In August, Miller pled guilty to second offense domestic assault and spent 7 days in jail. Also in August, he pled guilty to third degree criminal mischief and spent another 10 days in jail and was placed on probation for 2 years. Additionally, Miller pled guilty to violating a no-contact order for a second time and got another 7 days in jail. The first violation was in June, and he spent 7 days in jail for that offense.
On December 5, Miller entered a guilty plea to felony domestic assault and assault on a peace officer, records show. He will be sentenced on December 22. He is awaiting a March 27, 2015 trial on the charge of interference with official acts.
