MASON CITY – For the second time this season, NIACC sophomore Sierra Ford-Washington has been selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week.
Ford-Washington, who is from Richfield, Minn., was also the ICCAC and NJCAA Division II player of the week in early November.
Ford-Washington scored 27 points with seven rebounds, six steals and five assists in a win over the Warrburg College Junior Varsity on Dec. 2. She also scored 15 points with three rebounds, three steals and one assist in a win over Marshalltown Community College on Dec. 6.
Ford-Washington averages 19.2 points (2nd in the ICCAC) and 5.7 rebounds per contest. She also has 34 assists (7th in ICCAC) and 33 steals (2nd in ICCAC).
The No. 2 NIACC women (8-1 overall) return to action at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Riverland Community College.
