CHARLES CITY – A Charles City man with a violent history has pleaded guilty to a felony assault charge and has been sent to prison.
On June 13th, Charles City police responded to an assault in the 500 block of 6th Avenue. After an investigation, police arrested 37-year-old Shane Stillions. He was charged with two counts of felony assault causing serious injury and two counts of assault causing serious injury after he attacked his mother and stepfather and caused them serious injuries.
On August 22, Stillions pled guilty to one count of willful injury causing bodily injury. He was sentenced this week to up to 5 years in prison and ordered to pay $3,051.60 in court costs and restitution. He has already been sent to Oakdale prison.
Stillions last year served 30 days in jail for injuring a police officer as he was arrested during an alleged domestic assault.
