Mason City woman found guilty of interference

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman went on trial Tuesday on a charge of interference with official acts and was found guilty.

Andrea Peterson, age 67 faced a non-jury trial Tuesday on one count of interference with official acts. She was charged after an incident on September 22 in the Wendy’s parking lot as two other people, Brandon Ward and Amber Ward, were arrested. Peterson had an interaction with police officers that led to her being handcuffed, arrested and taken to jail.

On Tuesday morning, judge Patrick Byrne found Peterson guilty of interference with official acts.  She was ordered to pay $397.50 in fines and court fees.

Peterson has been found guilty twice before of interference with official acts.
