Son, brother of former Mohawk standout linemen chooses Nebraska

WEST DES MOINES – The high school son of former Mohawk standout lineman Scott Raridon has chosen to play college football at Nebraska.

“After my 2016 season I will be attending the university of Nebraska,” John Raridon announced on Twitter this weekend. John Raridon was selected to the 2013 Des Moines Register’s Elite All-State Football Team.

His father, Mason City native Scott Raridon, was an offensive lineman and played at Nebraska some 30 years ago. Under coach Barry Alvarez, he helped the Mohawks win their last state football championship for the Mohawks. John’s older brother, also named Scott, played at Mason City High and graduated in 2002, being named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Iowa for 2001. He chose to play at Notre Dame.
