Food bank to begin operations at new location this week

MASON CITY – Beginning Wednesday, October l, Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank will be serving clients from their new location.

The food bank will be open at 1 PM at their 122 South Adams location [one block west of Penneys] in downtown Mason City. Their former location in the alley entrance of Mohawk Square is now closed.

One very important change in the new operation is the clients choice program. This new program means that all clients will now be responsible for providing their own plastic, paper or cloth bags when they come to the food bank.

Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank’s new hours of operation are from 1-4 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The food bank will be open from 2:30-5:30 PM on Mondays.
