MASON CITY – A 13-year-old Mason City girl was reported missing and thanks to the watchful eye of law enforcement, was brought home safely.
Destiny Murphy, just 13-years-old, was reported missing at about 6:00 PM Thursday night after she did not come home from school. Mason City police were notified, and Destiny was entered into the state’s missing person database and website. Law enforcement were put on alert to watch for her.
Friday morning, Mason City police reported to NIT that later Thursday evening, around 10:00 PM, Destiny was located by a Cerro Gordo County Deputy walking along a road near 340th Street and Highway 65, near the Worth county border.
The deputy brought Destiny home.
