AMES, Iowa – Iowa State head football coach Paul Rhoads announced today that senior offensive lineman Jacob Gannon has rejoined the football team. Gannon quit the team about two weeks ago.
Jacob Gannon Statement:
“I have been recently diagnosed with anxiety. I am receiving treatment for my condition and I am looking forward to being a part of the football team. I want to thank Coach Rhoads and my teammates for their support.”
Iowa State head football coach Paul Rhoads Statement:
“We are glad Jacob is back with the Cyclone football family. We are behind Jacob 100 percent and will continue to support him throughout the process.”
Gannon, a three-year letterwinner from Iowa City, Iowa, has started a game on the offensive line in each of his first four seasons as a Cyclone, including the season-opener vs. North Dakota State.
A two-time First-Team Academic All-Big 12 selection, Gannon is Iowa State’s recipient for the National Football Foundation’s (NFF) Scholar Athlete Award.
