CLEAR LAKE – The Denny’s restaurant in Clear Lake is closed, but for how long?
The sit-down, cafe-style restaurant that has been located at 2411 Highway 18 for years was closed all day Sunday, and NIT has received word that it has closed for good, but that couldn’t be immediately confirmed. Denny’s is known for its 24-hours-a-day schedule.
A call to the establishment Sunday night went unanswered. A call to the Pilot convenience store next door was immediately answered, and an employee told NIT the restaurant had been closed all day and that she “had no idea what is going on over there.”
Denny’s has had its struggles in Clear Lake. It closed for a number of days in 2012 with no explanation. It also suffers from a swath of poor reviews on the internet.

The place is closed for good. I service a machine there and we were told to come pick it up.
I agree that it was a dump. Absolutely filthy!! And, the service was very poor. The waitresses did not look clean, and the restrooms looked and smelled like an outhouse.
Maybe the health department closed them down..with all the other problems, who knows??
Denny’s had been plagued with a few things over the past years. A waitress had been running a prostitution service for truckers who was fired, but then the manager who fired her had hired a team of rough gals who were accused of some things…stealing I believe, and the manager was sleeping with them. He and his gals all walked off the job, and that’s the reason why it closed 2 years ago. A new guy was brought in from Madison, WI, and I’m not sure why the latest closing occurred.
Piss poor management, get a good group in there and it will make money.
This is a scary thought. I can imagine the thoughts going through peoples minds right now especially with all the viruses that are going wild.
