MASON CITY – The NIACC men’s soccer team returns to action Wednesday at home against No. 1 Iowa Western (3-0 overall, 1-0 in the ICCAC). Match time is set for 4 p.m.
NIACC will play at Iowa Western on Oct. 7.
Last time out: NIACC (1-2 overall) stopped the Wartburg College junior varsity 3-1 on Sept. 1 in Waverly. Freshman Kevin Fortes scored all three of NIACC’s goals against the Knights.
Leading the league: Fortes (Brockton, Mass.) is tied for the ICCAC lead with five goals. Marshalltown’s Juan Carrillo also has five goals this season. Sophomore keeper Nathan Spores (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) ranks third in the league in save percentage (.771.)
