MANCHESTER, IOWA – Two Iowa adults were arrested after undertaking a pastime usually perpetrated by naughty kids during homecoming.

According to Manchester Chief of Police James R. Hauschild, on July 30, 2014, the Manchester Police Department discovered numerous cars that had been egged during the previous evening. In total, 21 cars had been egged causing different degrees of damage to the cars ranging from having to wash the car to sections of the car having to be repainted.

Manchester residents sounded off on the damage. One woman said “It happened all over town my car was egged as well. Still cant get it off.”

Another woman said that the two suspects, 24-year-old Matthew William Mitchell and 20-year-old Kathryn Marie Mitchell, both of Manchester, had “walked out of Wal-Mart with a million eggs.”

One person said that it would cost $800.00 to repaint the hood of her car “for just one egg.”

After an investigation, it was discovered that the suspects had caused the damage, police said. Matthew William Mitchell was charged with one count of 2nd degree criminal mischief, a class D felony. Kathryn Marie Mitchell was charged with one count of 2nd degree criminal mischief, a class D felony.
