Minor injuries reported in Lyon county, Iowa crash

investigateGEORGE, IA – A tired man lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole in Northwest Iowa this week.

On Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9:24 AM, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single motor vehicle accident on A34, about 1/2 mile east of George, IA. Jordan Furman, age 28, of George, IA was driving a 2004 Kia Sorento westbound on A34 when he became fatigued and entered the south ditch. The vehicle became disabled after it struck a utility pole owned by Alliant Energy. Minor injuries were reported by the driver. The vehicle received approximately $6,000 in damages and the utility pole received approximately $2,500 in damages. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the George Fire and EMS, the Lyon County Ambulance, and Warntjes Paint and Body Shop.
