Woman drives car into side of building

MASON CITY – No one was hurt Monday after a woman drove her car through the side of a building in Mason City.

Police said that Monday morning at about 9:39 AM, Shelby Ann Pollock, age 22 of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, drove a Ford Taurus into the side of a building located near 2021 4th Street SW, home of North Iowa Air.

Pollock told police that her brakes failed.

A person working in the building told NIT that a loud “crash” was heard and the building and her desk shook briefly when the incident occurred.

“We heard it and felt it. Everyone’s just fine here,” she said.

Why don’t they call it as it is. She accidentally stepped on the accelerator thinking it was the brake and FROZE!!! It happens so much but that’s what happens when you get old. You don’t think as fast as the young. Iowa has so many elderly, I can see why their dr. Lic. are good for only two years at a time. Bottom line, the car is getting the blame when its the driver. Next it will be a teen driving into something while texting.

In the article it says her age was 22……so your ending statement is probably more accurate
