MC woman arrested after putting child in danger while ramming car of ex’s new girlfriend

MASON CITY – Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned.

Earlier this week, a Mason City woman allegedly flew into a rage and went after her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend, putting her own child at risk while she rammed her rival’s car.

Police allege that Gabrielle Jade Marie Young, age 19, assaulted her ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend on July 28 at or near the 1300 block of North Washington Avenue. Police said that although the incident did not take place at a home, the assault was still a domestic assault since the two were still involved in a relationship. The assault charge was filed on behalf of the Young’s ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend. Police said that during the course of the assault, Young allegedly and intentionally, struck the new girlfriend’s vehicle with her vehicle and that at that time Young’s one month old child was in the car with her. Young then left the scene, and after an investigation, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Young was later arrested and charged with serious assault, serious domestic assault and child endangerment. She was taken to jail, booked, and released on her own recognizance two days later. She awaits an August 15 court date.
