Dan Kamm III named Interim Head Football Coach at MCHS

mc-mohawks-old-logoMASON CITY – Dan Kamm III was named Interim Head Football Coach at Mason City High School Friday at a press conference.

Via social media, the school district said Coach Kamm has four years of coaching experience with Mohawk Football. When asked what he was feeling about this opportunity Dan stated, “I am really excited about this and I am ready to get going. We are ready to move. The team has really bonded together through all of this and this should help us through the tough times during the season.”

Athletic Director Bob Kenny said that Coach Kamm stepped up into a leadership role when former coach Penner resigned late in the year and has worked hard with his strong staff and have the kids in a positive mode.

“Coach Kamm and the football coaching staff have gone the extra mile for kids,” stated Kenny.

Kamm has been with the Mohawk coaching staff for four years, is a Mason City resident, and has children in the Mason City schools. He is not a teacher for the district.

Mason City opens the season against Clear Lake at Mohawk Field.

Dan Kamm is a good man, he enjoys working with kids and has volunteered his time to do so. I am very happy he stepped up to help a desperate program.

I do not know this genleman but I do wish him luck. He will need it with the parents all trying to influence him. That was, is and always has been the problem with Mason City Football. It was back in the day when I played and it still is.

LVS…what years did you play?

1917

@Anonymous-Oh good. Look who is here. The weekend, cowardly troll with the big mouth. Still stupid I see.

@Historian-As a historian you really suck. Or are you just another weekend troll?

Weekend troll, eh?

As opposed to say some befuddled crazy old coot that posts inane comments all day everyday?

Let’s recap the choices then:

1. Weekend troll

or

2. Reality challenged, laughable and uninformed dinosaur.

I’ll go with Weekend troll.

@Mojo-A long time ago to be sure.

@mojo-If you are referring to my age and are going to say things have changed since then, I would tell you I have a nephew who is currently playing for the Mohawks and another one who just graduated a couple years ago and they tell me it is the same. Better players are sitting on the bench or not going out because their parents are not as vocal I had another relative that was a coach here in Iowa and he quit coaching because of it. The names and faces change but the attitudes do not.

LVS……I don’t care about your age or who you are. Every parent thinks their kid is great and should be starting. Always have always will. Lets give this new coach a chance before the nay sayers and couch. QB’s tear into him.
