MASON CITY – Dan Kamm III was named Interim Head Football Coach at Mason City High School Friday at a press conference.
Via social media, the school district said Coach Kamm has four years of coaching experience with Mohawk Football. When asked what he was feeling about this opportunity Dan stated, “I am really excited about this and I am ready to get going. We are ready to move. The team has really bonded together through all of this and this should help us through the tough times during the season.”
Athletic Director Bob Kenny said that Coach Kamm stepped up into a leadership role when former coach Penner resigned late in the year and has worked hard with his strong staff and have the kids in a positive mode.
“Coach Kamm and the football coaching staff have gone the extra mile for kids,” stated Kenny.
Kamm has been with the Mohawk coaching staff for four years, is a Mason City resident, and has children in the Mason City schools. He is not a teacher for the district.
Mason City opens the season against Clear Lake at Mohawk Field.
