AMES – NIACC golfer Levi Fink will be an Iowa State Cyclone.
Fink, who won the NJCAA Division II national title in May, will be a junior on the Iowa State men’s golf team in the 2014-15 season.
“I am excited to have Levi join our program,” Iowa State coach Andrew Tank said. “He’s proven that he can win on a national level and I look forward to supporting his development as a player.”
Tank, who will begin his fifth season as coach at Iowa State, guided the Cyclones to the NCAA tournament last spring for the first time since the 1953 season. The Cyclones placed 25th at the national meet.
Fink, who prepped at Valley of Elgin, heads to Iowa State on a roll.
After winning the NJCAA Division II title in May, Fink placed third at the Fort Dodge Amateur in June and won the 77th Iowa Masters in Ames on July 13.
“I am so proud of what Levi has accomplished in his time here at NIACC, both academically and of course on the golf course by winning the national championship,” NIACC coach Chris Frenz said. “His goal from day one was to play Division I golf at Iowa State and for him to go out and prove himself, that he is worthy of this opportunity, is outstanding.
“I can’t wait to see how he competes at that level and I expect him to do great things as a Cyclone.”
