RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Police responded to a burglary in progress Wednesday and arrested a Spencer man at the scene.
Cerro Gordo deputies were called to 24208 Jonquil Avenue, about a mile east of Interstate 35 and west of Manly, at about 7:48 PM Wednesday on a call of an under-construction house that was being burglarized.
Deputies arrived and arrested Nikolas Ryan Harken, age 25 of Spencer, at the scene, and took him to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, charged with two counts of third degree burglary and one count of 2nd degree burglary. He is being held in the jail on $10,000 cash or surety bond.
Earlier this month, on April 13, Harken was charged in Clay county with four counts of burglarizing a motor vehicle and criminal mischief. He has been released on April 18 after posting $2,000 bond.
