NIT – Steve King already proclaimed he has a target on his back, because he claims he has “taken a principled, conservative stance against amnesty for illegal immigrants.”

Now, his challenger in the upcoming 4th District Congressional election seems to be zeroing in on that target, as Democratic candidate Jim Mowrer posted a wide victory in fundraising totals, Federal Election Commission reports released this week show.

According to the reporting period ending March 31, Mowrer’s fundraising total was $351,107, while King raised $121,041.

The 4th Congressional District of Iowa will hold an election for the U.S. House of Representatives on November 4, 2014. Democrat Jim Mowrer, a former soldier who worked in the Pentagon and served in Iraq, has challenged incumbent Republican Steve King in the upcoming election. Mowrer, who announced he would be a candidate in July of 2013, now lives in Boone.

Reports surfaced earlier that Mowrer out-raised King on the campaign trail in the previous quarter, too. The Sioux City Journal reported that Mowrer raised $175,362 during the months of October through December, compared with $162,850 for King during that tme frame.
