MASON CITY – A Mason City man previously convicted on a range of serious crimes – many of them felonies – and wanted on a new assault charge, was nabbed by Mason City police on Thursday morning south of the Cultural Crescent and then quickly released from custody.

According to police, Monte Ray Bitker, age 29, was wanted for an alleged assault that took place on October 12th and was reported at 11:34 PM that evening. Bitker is alleged to have punched a man that day at around 10:30 PM in the 400 block 2nd Street NW.  Bitker left the scene before police arrived.  Soon after, a nationwide arrest warrant was issued for Bitker’s arrest.

Five days later, just after midnight on October 17th, officers stopped subjects for bicycle violations at 11th Street and South President Avenue. One of the subjects, Monte Ray Bitker, was arrested on the arrest warrant and taken to jail.

Just hours later, Bitker – a felon convicted of drug crimes, burglary, and forgery – was able to post $1,000 cash/surety bond through M&M Bonding Company.

A source indicated that Bitker was paroled from prison just two weeks ago.

monte is a sick sick man, he cant take care of himself or his kids its disgusting.

I know Monte and his IQ borders on the mentally handicapped.

it’s likely the bail was 10k, and he bonded for $1000. if he has a history of making his court appearances, he is more likely to be released. that was probably the case. it’s a non-story really.

Um yeah I know Monte..a waste of life.its a shame his two boys don’t even really know who he is because he has spent most of their lives either on a drug binge or in prison. Such a shame. Maybe one day he will get his shit together. Until then he should be thankful that there is someone there to help raise his boys because God knows he isn’t..

really? do any of you even know monte? and could somebody explain how any justice is being served, when the man he allegedly assaulted is a puke that gets his rocks off by kidnapping women, raping them, then torturing them until he decides hes done with them, not just once, but to three different women, whom are obviously too scared to tell on the sick pervert. people are so quick to pass judgement on people and things they know nothing about… MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!

Wensday is parole officer will get of his ass and enter a parole vioaltion warrant and police will be ordered by judge to arrest him again. Might save time not to offer bail to parolees arrested for new criminal offinses…..

Let’s see a $1000 bond means he had to come up with$100. Good grief!

Let us all watch and see if justice is served.

He should be brought to trial quickly on the assault charge. If he is found guilty then that would constitute a “Parole Violation”.

Then his Parole Officer should put out an order that revokes his “Parole”, and he should be sent back to prison immediately.

Carlyle are you following this? Let’s hope our court system gets this right!

The parole office does not put out an order, there is a parole hearing and an administrative law judge decides if the parole should be revoked. Dalen does not have control over the court list for bringing cases to trial. However, he should be in the office at least 40 hours a week to supervise his office and do his share of the work

Ah, he is just misunderstood. Turn him loose so he can kill someone next time.
