Police remove children from potentially dangerous situation

MASON CITY – Police arrested a Mason City man Sunday after being alerted to a potentially dangerous situation.

According to police, on June 16, 2013, around 7:20 am, dispatch received a call stating a toddler was wandering about in the yard and roadway near 47 23rd Street SW. Officers responded and observed a 2 year old toddler roaming about unsupervised outside the residence.

Police said that “the parent / resident was soon located inside the residence. A 1 yr old child was also located inside the residence. Due to the parent’s apparent condition, police released the children to the mother who arrived at the scene.”

The father, Cody A. Henderson, was arrested for Child Endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor and he was taken to the county jail.

In the past two years, Cody Henderson has been charged with riot, domestic abuse causing injury, and fifth degree criminal mischief and still owes Iowa courts $1860.29, $825.00 and $60.00, respectively in those cases, records show.
