WASHINGTON, May 26 (UPI) — About 33 percent of the American public says economic conditions are good right now, up from 26 percent in December, a CNN/ORC International poll found.
The poll, released Friday, also found the number of people who say they believe the country’s economic condition is bad is down from 74 percent to 67 percent, CNN reported.
“Any positive changes in the economy appear to have only helped college graduates, while the rest of the country is still struggling,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. “The number of college graduates who think the economy is in good shape rose from 34 percent in March to 42 percent now, compared to no significant change among Americans with no college degree.”
The poll of 923 adults nationwide was conducted May 17-18 and had a margin of error of plus of minus three percentage points.
