Google reports partial outage for Mail, Drive and Apps services

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 17 (UPI) — Google says its Gmail, Google Drive and Apps services suffered partial outages Wednesday morning although very few customers were affected.

The search giant posted notices it was looking at “issues” with the Admin control panel, then with Google Mail, then Google Drive, and later, Google Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentations, NBC News reported.

“This issue is affecting less than 0.007 percent of the Google Mail user base. The affected users are unable to access Google Mail,” Goggle posted on its Apps Status Dashboard at 9:09 a.m. EDT.

Less than a hour later Google said Gmail had been restored for some affected users and a complete resolution was expected soon.

“We will post the root cause of the issue there when our teams have completed their investigation. In the meantime, for everyone who is affected, we apologize — we know you count on Google to work for you and we’re working hard to restore normal operation for you,” the company said in a statement sent to NBC News.
