DES MOINES – Republicans in the Iowa in the House of Representatives introduced a bill Wednesday outlawing abortions. Doctors who perform abortions could be prosecuted if the law is enacted.
The bill defines human life as beginning “from the moment of conception, when the zygote is formed, until natural death.”
The bill provides that murder includes killing another person through any means that terminates the life of the other person including but not limited to the use of abortion-inducing drugs, and defines “abortion-inducing drug.”
The bill also provides that murder does not include a fetal death or the spontaneous termination of pregnancy as defined in Iowa law.
The bill amends Iowa code relating to discrimination relating to health insurance abortion coverage by eliminating the reference to abortion coverage.
The House is controlled by Republicans, while the Senate is controlled by Democrats.
Republican and I am one, should worry if aborting is illegal, then abortions move back into the alleys.
In 2013, I just can’t understand why creating a baby isn’t 100% preventable. Good Lord with all the creams and jellies and pills and shots and inter uteran devices and uterus rings plus surgery for men and women and the Trojan Rubbber, I just don’t understand why babies are STILL being born? I also don’t understand why anytime anyone wants to adopt a little one, they have to run to China or Russa to get one. Shop local and adopt a baby/child from the good old USA. I just don’t get it.
Understand that in today’s world, people are zombified morons that live for the moment. They are self indulgent and are looking for their own pleasure and their own self intrests. No morals, no values, no respect, no self respect. They don’t care about the consequences of their actions because in today’s world someone is always there to take care of their problems, mainly government but usually starts with the parents always there to protect them and giving them what they want. If you want a Home there is Hud, if you’re Hungry there is EBT, if you’re Sick there is Title 19 and soon to be Obamacare, if you need a cell phone then so you’re given one, sell some dope for the extra cash. So why work or be productive when someone will always give you what you want.
A total ban on abortons would be wrong. Mothers life, rape, incest, there are reasons for abortion. But the assembly line type of abortions now available in this country make little sense. With the methods available for prevention of pregnancy, abortions are becoming like pedicures, permanents, and spa sessions. After awhile they just don’t seem to have meanings any more, and that lowers drastically our respect for life. This isn’t religion, this isn’t “I’m right, you”re wrong”. Abortion on demand is just something that really shouldn’t be needed anymore.
I agree with you 100% on this. Most abortions just shouldn’t be needed any more, but unfortunatly they are. People do stupid things all the time without thinking about the consequences. How do you stop stupidity?

That was my point. Obama wants gun control “if it saves one life” was his reason for stamping on our constitutional right.. People agree with this yet they allow abortion? What like 55000 abortions each year?? I cannot believe there are that many rapes… If he can stomp on our rights for (1) life then you have to be an idiot to agree with abortion. I personally think each person should have control of whatever procedure they want BUT if you think more gun control is the ok then you BETTER be against abortions… what was the election mantra? whats fair is fair??

@happy, you just don’t get it do ya. First of all biden has said himself that gun control will not stop the violence or the murders. Sure I will give you one point that if they outlaw abortions people will still get them but there will be a price for it and I am not just talking money either.
