General manager of Klemme bar charged with identity theft

KLEMME – A Klemme woman was charged with identity theft last week.

Tina Badker, 41, was charged with felony (D) identity theft on January 9th in Hancock County District Court.

Badker is listed as the general manager of The Shamrock bar in Klemme, according to its Facebook page.

An NIT reader on January 12th submitted a news tip expressing concern about the charge against Badker, saying “this is (a) very bad thing for the public as she owns the Shamrock Bar in Klemme IA and works with people’s credit cards, ID’s, checks lots of personal information.”

The charges were filed after a Hancock County Sheriff’s Department investigation. Records show the offense date as July 11, 2011.

Badker faces a preliminary hearing on January 24th and an arraignment hearing on February 26th.

From what I understand from reading the GLOB was she used her partners credit card number to try to get her utilities turned back on because she had bad credit. She didn’t steal a customers card. I do not know if her partner knew what she was doing but probably not.

If he is guilty of this I hope they throw the book at him!! To be in the position to have peoples cc information is a very scary thing. Wonder what he can do with that information in the future? Thankful I have never been there. My heart goes out to the people that did very scary.

Tina is a funny name for a “he/him”.
