WASHINGTON – Congress approved a new tax law Tuesday night that avoids the fiscal cliff for the near-term.
Part of the agreement is a small boost in the capital gains tax paid by wealthy investors.
The old rate was 15%. Then new rate is 20% for those earning more than $400,000 a year ($450,000 if married).
