NORA SPRINGS – This year’s Buffalo Days and Firemen’s Ball, held Saturday in Nora Springs, was organized by the Nora Springs Lions Club and Nora Springs Firemen. There was an activity for just about anyone to be enjoyed.
Among this year’s events were a 5K Run and walk in the morning at 8:30 a.m. and a softball tournament was held at the North Sullivan Avenue ball fields at 8 a.m. A car show, motorcycle poker run, bingo, waterball challenge, carnival games, inflatables, face painting and train rides for kids.
Children got to hold and use a real fire hose and wear a Nora Springs fire helmet.
The Historical Society sold popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, homemade ice cream and pies for much of the day.
A buffalo meal was offered as well as a street dance, parade and raffle. The closing band was Chocolate Crackers, who had performed last week in Mason City.
