BRIEF: Santorum endorses Lange in race for Iowa seat in U.S. House

James Q. Lynch, CR Gazette –

Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has endorsed Ben Lange in Iowa’s U.S. House 1st District race.

Lange, an Independence attorney, is challenging Waterloo Democratic Rep. Bruce Braley.

“I was honored to receive Ben’s endorsement and support during my presidential campaign, and had the great pleasure to get to know Ben and his entire family along the trail,” said Santorum, the winner of the Iowa’s first-in-the-nation precinct caucuses.

He called Lange a “tireless campaigner for the conservative principles of faith, family, and freedom.”

“He will be a tremendous representative for the people of Iowa in the halls of Congress, and I look forward to working with Ben’s campaign to help elect him as the next congressman for northeast Iowa,” said Santorum.

After suspending his presidential effort, Santorum has formed Patriot Voices, a 501 (c)(4) nonprofit organization that Santorum describes as “a grassroots and online community… with a goal of 1 million voices united [to] transform the political landscape of our country.”
