DES MOINES – The National Weather Service in Des Moines is warning of possible record high temps throughout the North Iowa region.
Temps could reach heat indexes of 95 to 105 Monday in North Iowa this afternoon. The counties the weather service list that face the heat are Emmet, Kossuth, Winnebago, Cerro Gordo, Pocahontas, Humboldt, Wright, Franklin, Butler, and Bremer.
Thunderstorms are possible Monday evening. Some could be severe with damaging wind, large hail and locally heavy rains.
