BRITT, Iowa – June 6, 2012 – Replacement of bridge approach sections at the Winnebago River and the Ideal Creek bridge will require shifting all traffic onto the south lanes of Iowa 122 in a two-lane, two-way pattern between South Birch Drive east to near College Drive in Mason City until late July, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Britt construction office.
A 10-foot width lane restriction will be in place in the open lanes of the roadway. There will also be traffic lights at Yorktown Pike and Iowa 122 to assist traffic through the work zone.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
Didn’t they just do work on this a year ago?? No wonder we lose business in that area.
they did not work on the bridges all they did was fill the cracks in the road
They worked on the bridge by Whiskey Creek a couple of years ago.
The Whiskey Creek bridge is on the other side of town.
OOPS-sorry, you are correct.
